In their last meeting in December, Connecticut connected on nearly 46 percent of its three-point tries and Shabazz Napier
hit a buzzer-beating jumper for a 65-64 win over Florida. The Final Four grudge match proved another story though as Florida
forced UConn into 6-for-16 shooting from behind the arc and controlled the glass in a 68-66 Gators win. Make that 31
consecutive victories and counting for Florida.
After trailing by eight at the half, UConn struggled to close the gap, behind 11 with about three minutes to play. The
Huskies then utilized a 12-3 run that narrowed the deficit to 65-63, highlighted by threes from Ryan Boatright and Tyler
Olander. Alas, time ran out on the rally and Florida prevailed 68-66.
Casey Prather led the Gators with 21 points and seven rebounds. Scottie Wilbekin chipped in 13 points and five assists,
while Patric Young notched 17 points. Napier tallied 14 points, eight assists and seven rebounds in defeat. Boatright,
DeAndre Daniels and Amida Brimah also scored in double figures for the Huskies.
