Welcome to Cooperstown, Barry Larkin.

The former Cincinnati Reds shortstop was inducted into baseball's Hall of Fame on July 22. Larkin received 86.4 percent of votes in his third year on the ballot, easily earning the minimum 75 percent necessary for induction. He wore a Reds uniform for the duration of his career, becoming the 48th Hall of Famer to compete for just one major league team.

Larkin's career highlights include a 1990 World Series Championship, 12 All-Star appearances, three Gold Glove awards, nine Silver Slugger awards and one MVP award.

Larkin was the recipient of the National League MVP award for the 1995 season in which he finished fifth in the NL in both batting average and runs scored, 10th in both hits and on-base percentage and second in stolen bases. Larkin was also awarded a Gold Glove and Silver Slugger for his efforts in 1995.

The Reds topped their division that year, finishing with an 85-59 record. They swept the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NL Division Series but the Atlanta Braves returned the favor in the NL Championship Series, beating the Reds four games to zero on their way to a World Championship.

The following season, Larkin became the first shortstop to hit 30 home runs and steal 30 bases in the same year. His 33 home runs were a career high and his 36 stolen bases were the second-most of his career.

The feat has since been accomplished by Alex Rodriguez with the Seattle Mariners in 1998, Jimmy Rollins with the Philadelphia Phillies in 2007 and Hanley Ramirez with the Florida Marlins in 2008.
