Kuroda is old.
Nova is inconsistent.
Tanaka is unproven.
Pineda hasn't pitched in two years.

They're all "wait and see" with me.

A lot of "ifs" I agree.  For some reason I think they'll work out.

For some reason, I don't.

The Yanks have had a long, successful run.    It had to end.   Others have been saying it since 2003.   I've been saying it for the last couple of years.

A down period is in the offing.

FWIW, I only have the Yankees at 85 wins. Infield scares me. Defense scares me. Bullpen scares me. Rotation, not as much.

I expect the IF to be horrible.    Jeter/Tex coming off injuries and definitely not the players they were.    Johnson/Roberts are not has beens, they're never weres.   OF should be good at the plate and in the field but prone to injuries.    I have to wait and see what happens in the pen.   They've got some live arms.

0-2.  Can't mount any offense against the mighty Houston staff.    But Kuroda pitched well.   So there's that.

Yanks win.    Tanaka to make his first BL start tonight.

That's not fair.  From 2005 through 2009 Brian Roberts was pretty darn good.

He hasn't been the same since he ended his relation ship with Mr. Steroid, though.

Meh.  I recall one ridiculous year but, for the most part, I thought he was a 270/350/420 guy.    I suppose that's not horrible but I did tire of the "Coach's son who works harder than anyone" BS when he had his super year.

If he plays half the season, I'd be very surprised.

That's pretty good for a 2nd baseman. (and he was better than that at his peak).  He also stole bases.  That said, he's a different player now, and can't stay on the field.

Have to admit I was spoiled by Cano's production.
