David Lough for Danny Valencia.... not quite the #2 starter they were expecting for him

Who is "they?"

12/18/2013 8:03 PM
jlrunruh had proposed that the royals trade Lough for Jose Altuve or Scott Feldman. The "they" is sarcasm I suspect.

So you are happy with a broken part timer? I guess it is last call at the bar.

Mays, Aaron and Perry chemically enhanced their bodies with steroids?

That's news to me.
Does this no longer apply?   "It's pretty stupid to acknowledge the accomplishments of cheaters to put them on a pedistal as "one of the greatest of all time".

Or do you allow some forms of cheating but not others?   If so, please list acceptable cheating so we don't have to go thru this again.

Steroids/PEDs.

Duh.

Amphetamines are PEDs.

Amphetamines are PEDs.
Sure they are.  If you want to pretend that.

Should we also pretend that coffee and Gatorade are PED's?

So you're denying that amphetamines are PEDs?

Interesting.

When MLB is referring to PED's, are they generally referring to amphetamines?

Have the players who have been getting suspended under the JDA over the past couple of years generally been getting busted for doing speed?

Why do you continue to insist on acting like a dumbass?

12/18/2013 10:16 PM
Plenty of players have been suspended for amphetamines. But, please, continue to argue that amphetamines aren't performance enhancing.
12/18/2013 10:22 PM
Please tell me how the recent crackdown in MLB on PED's is specifically targeting amphetamine usage.

The only reason amphetamines were ever banned in baseball is because they were scheduled illegal in 1969. The only reason ephedrine was banned is because it was scheduled illegal by the Feds in 2004. Even after Steve Bechler's death in 03, ephedrine was not banned in the majors.

I can take caffeine pills that have the same effect as both drugs. If baseball considered amphetamines a PED, caffeine would be outlawed as well.

You mean like Miguel Tejada's 105 game suspension under the Joint Drug Agreement? Or Carlos Ruiz's suspension at the beginning of 2013?

Amphetamines are performance enhancing drugs:

Adderall is a schedule two drug. Of course it's not allowed in baseball.

Baseball turned a blind eye to steroids and HGH because it made the game more exciting to the average fan. They specifically came out and banned them as performance enhancers in 2005 even though they technically became outlawed by baseballs rules in 1989 when they were put on the US illegal drug schedule. Baseball never specifically banned stimulants. The government did because of the health risks involved with using them.
