but, I'm not sure why anyone would expect this team that failed last year and improved itself at exactly ZERO positions, would be any better

Stop being such a damn pansy.

They did upgrade.  Lackey isn't playing this year and Buchy is healthy.  Ross/Sweeney much better than Drew.

you realize that it is jock sniffing, blind loyalists liek yourself that enable ownership to believe that they can get away with taking an entire off season off and giving us nothing


Lackey is a bit of addition by subtraction, but nothing about this rotation says 'solid'....Lester is decent, Beckett can go screw, Clay is 'healthy', Felix is a massive wild card, and Bard is 'the most talented #5 starter in the league'.....yikes

don't even pretend to defend the bullpen.......I don't consider Ross/Sweeney as a replacement for Drew, he was largely invisible last year anyhow...they replaced Reddick
what they should have done is spent SOME of the money they had by not having to pay Drew, but they pocketed it and gave us table scraps

You lost all credibility right there.  Take your pink hat off and go play in traffic.

They did spend money they saved on Drew....it's called giving Gonzo a major pay upgrade ($6.3m to $21.9m).  Not to mention pay increases to Els, Ortiz, Buchholz and Pedy.

we've been round and round on Lester before.....nothing that he has done in the past two years would change anything I thought about him


he is not a #1....he does not outpitch other #1's.....he has good stuff but as an "ace" he is merely decent.....he'd be wicked awesome!!!!!!!!!!!! as our #3 starter

Yeah, they should just have dumped Gonzo, Els, Pedy and Papi.  They sucked.  Hell, they should just get rid of everyone.
