I'm in the car. Is that fact or "reports?"

Confirmed.  211 games thru the end of 2014.

"Rodriguez's discipline under the Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program is based on his use and possession of numerous forms of prohibited performance-enhancing substances, including Testosterone and human Growth Hormone, over the course of multiple years," MLB said in a statement. "Rodriguez's discipline under the Basic Agreement is for attempting to cover-up his violations of the Program by engaging in a course of conduct intended to obstruct and frustrate the Office of the Commissioner's investigation."

Keep your eyes on the road and your hands upon the wheel.

Ah, ok. Is he appealing?

I'm going 8 mph on the 405.

He has said he would.   He can play until his appeal is heard.

Cool. Maybe we'll get to see what the evidence is.

Yanks responded to ARod's "lot of layers" comment on Saturday.

Too bad George isn't around.

From the MLBPA:
For the player appealing, Alex Rodriguez, we agree with his decision to fight his suspension. We believe that the Commissioner has not acted appropriately under the Basic Agreement. Mr. Rodriguez knows that the Union, consistent with its history, will defend his rights vigorously.

Their statement was a little more expansive than that but I'm not sure what else they would have been expected to say.

I think that it's notable that they disagree with the CBA portion of the suspension but not any of the JDA suspensions. MLB could have avoided the appeal by suspending Arod for only 50 games under a first violation of the JDA.

You can't seriously expect that MLB would give, or should give, ARod a free pass for his non-JDA related offenses.

All of his offenses were JDA related. And they gave Melky a pass when he obstructed an investigation and lied to MLB.

How is obstructing an investigation "JDA related"?
