And that's 60 exit speed, not when it gets to you.

Sure isn't.   But, if a baseball has to be hit 90 MPH to travel 300 ft, you'd agree that a softball would have to be hit harder, correct?   Assuming that you're not going to say "no" just to argue about something you know is wrong, I think it would be fair to say that I've seen softballs that have an exit speed well in excess of 100 MPH in my league.    Do you think a two-hopper might actually still be going 80 MPH at 65 ft?
Nope, I doubt you've seen two hoppers going any faster than 60 in slow pitch softball.
I suppose we could disagree but that seems pointless.   That equates to about 89 MPH in baseball at 95 ft.    Either way, we've moved from .55 to .73 of a second to react.    Assuming most of the grounders that MLB 3B see are at least 89 MPH, how many BL 3B get hit in the face?

Yeah, now you're simply wrong.

A baseball has to have a 90 MPH exit speed to travel 300 ft.   A softball would HAVE to have a higher exit speed to travel the same distance.   Unless you think I'm playing on a 150 ft fence, you know you're wrong.

Avg MLB exit speed: 108
Avg elite college softball: 69

How many ground balls travel 300 feet?

Do I even need to open that?     I assume you know what "average" means.     Not everyone in my league can hit a softball 300+ ft.   But some can.

Does it matter for exit speed?   The ball hasn't touched the ground at that point.

I'll ask again.   A baseball needs an exit speed of 90 MPH to travel 300 ft.     What exit speed is required to hit a softball 300 ft?

I'll add that I'm not playing women's college softball.

So you think ground balls come off the bat at the same speed as home runs?

Wow. Maybe you should take a breath and think about what you're arguing here.

I'll add that elite women's college fast pitch players are probably better than the guys in your league.

Wow...comparing your softball games to Miggy and the MLB.  Congrats on the losing the argument.

Can't believe this is still going on....what a joke.

Sure.  Do you think they don't?  Do you understand angles/elevation/etc?

Seriously.   Do you think a ball hit 8 ft high could ever clear a fence?   Do you think that it can't be hit just as hard, or harder, as one that does?

Wow is right.

Another ignorant *******.

It really wasn't the point.    I was simply pointing out that people, even those of considerably less athletic ability, can avoid getting hit the face with a batted ball.
