One of the stupidest narratives was Pedro being in the wrong for throwing Zimmer down.

Pedro should now be arrested for murder.

We all grew up with him in one way or another . . . . here's one article of what I imagine will be many over the next couple of days:

Another good article here.

Zim was managing the Red Sox in the late 70s when I came of age as a sports fan.  Frankly, he was in over his head, and his petty squabbles with the team's left wing led to the very dumb trades of Lee, Jenkins, Carbo, etc.  But as years went by and he settled into the role of coach, advisor, and resident all-around nice guy it became obvious that he was a good man who was just not up to the task of being an MLB manager.  Gammons had some great stories about him in Beyond the Sixth Game.  The kind of guy you would have liked to have had as an uncle.  He will be missed.
