Well, V-Mart is having a pretty good year.  Better numbers across the board in AVG/OBP/SLG/OPS.  And he's struck out 133 fewer times.

I think he's worth debating.

RE: Edgar Martinez . . . unless he's being pitched around, I want my supposedly "great" hitters to hit, not walk.  Edgar Martinez walking provides the same offensive value as Mario Mendoza walking.  But Edgar Martinez swinging the bat will generally provide more offensive value than Mario Mendoza swinging the bat.

PAGE TWO IN LESS THAN AN HOUR!!!!

That's better than Ferguson shooting numbers.

BL threads typically have a high Q-rating, because you never know what stupid thing he's going to say next.

It's free entertainment.

RE: EM, so, yes, you think he should have walked less?

RE: AL MVP
Player A: 333/403/567 with 31 HR
Player B: 289/378/562 with 34 HR

B plays CF, A plays DH. Yeah, that's not close. At all. B is clearly more valuable.

If you're going to argue for a slugger at a non-premium position, Abreu is the name you're looking for.

RE: EM . . . feel free to try to find somebody else to rehash that argument.  I'm not interested.  Or just go back to the previous thread where that was discussed to death.

RE: AL MVP . . . so, there's no debate?  Just like there should have been no debate in 2012 or 2013?

So now there's a third name brought into your non-debate?

RE: Em, it's a yes or no. Do you think he should have walked less?

RE: MVP. We can have the debate. I don't know why you'd want to, though. You'd have to actually believe that someone was better than Trout.

What do you not understand about "I'm not interested"?

I understand that it means you can't answer. "Yes" makes you look stupid. "No" is counter to what you argued for several pages in another thread.

Well, if you believed that I answered the question in another thread, then why are you bringing it up here?  Sounds like the answer to your question is in the other thread.

Also, why are you cluttering your 2014 MVP thread with an Edgar Martinez argument?   Did he play this year?

I don't ever argue for pitchers to win the MVP, with that said, Kershaw deserves it. AL MVP, Trouts got a pretty good case, only other player I can think of that might take away votes would be Cano, for what he's done in Seattle.

I enjoy it when you squirm.
