Meh.  2006.   Team average of 3276 yds, 20.3 TD.   Brady was just barely above average.   Nothing special at all.

Now you're talking 1 season?  2005 he lead the league in yards.

Why?  Rapeslisberger and Eli have won two Super Bowls..... EACH.

Rivers has won as many as I have.
Brady has 3.  Here we go again.

I guess this means you think 2/3 to 3/4 of QBs in the league are just barely above or below average?  He finished 7th and 4th in the 2 categories you gave.  He's also led the league in yardage and TDs in a season pre 2007.
Throwing for 300 yards and 3 TDs more than the average isn't anything special.  It's barely above average.   And he's not playing for the Cleveland Browns and winning 4 games a year.    He takes all the snaps for NE.   There are maybe 10-15 QB that take all the snaps.    As a whole, he was slightly above average before 2007.

I said his pre-2007 average.  burnsy threw out 2006.  Talk to him.

2006 7th in yards, 4th in TDs and 9th in rating.

2005 he lead the NFL in yards, was 3rd in TD's and 6th in rating.

2004 10th in yards, 6th TDs and 9th rating

2003 6th in yards, 10th TD's and 10th rating

2002 6th in yards, 1st in TDs and 9th in rating (his 1st season as the starter).

Yeah....that's just slightly above average.

All individual QB numbers.  As I just said, he takes all the snaps.    That means the NE QBs are just slightly above league average.

Is it Brady's fault that some QBs can't play the whole season because they're replaced due to their own shittyness?  Sometimes it's because of injury, sometimes it's not.
1/17/2013 5:35 PM
It's not his fault at all.  He should be lauded for making all the starts.    It's just, as a whole, NE's passing game, led by Mr. Brady, was simple league average up until 2007.
1/17/2013 5:41 PM
When he finishes in the top 10 at worse, and sometimes as high as 1st, out of 32, in the categories you're giving, hes consistently better than league average for quarterbacks. We aren't comparing Brady to teams, we're comparing him to quarterbacks.

I'm telling you the NE passing game, pre-2007, was just above league average.    You can give credit/lay blame to whoever you want.

I didn't realize that the discussion we were having was about the Pats passing attack compared to other teams. I thought it was about Brady as compared to other QBs.

If you had to assign responsibility to a passing game, how would you dole it out?

QB
RB
WR/TE
OL
Coaching

Still haven't told me how Brady was carried for 3 Super Bowl wins.  His o-line was poor to average for his first 2 wins.  Even worse than I thought.  Or do you just want to ignore pre-2007?

I'll address it.

In 2001, Brady had the help of an amazing defense (without them AND some cheating they would have gotten DESTROYED by an obviously superior Rams team in the SB). During the regular season they were ranked 6th in points allowed.

The talented and versitile Troy Brown was by far the leading receiver on the team. His ability to do many things well helped that team in ways that are often far under valued. He was the safety valve Brady had at that time (and he's ALWAYS had at least one safety valve receiver, most recently Welker and even now the TEs).

HAHAHA!!!  So, it's now Brady vs whole other teams.

We are talking QB's here.

As much as jtard is a moron, he's right on the button with you.  You just argue and argue with zero end point and absolutely zero reasoning behind it.

You're not loaded with weapons when Troy Brown is your #1.
