Patriots 9.5 points favorites over Ravens Topic

Favre is overrated. A good QB, but a lot of his numbers are because of longevity. He holds some big negative records too. The Nolan Ryan of the NFL.

I really see Elway and Marino as a tie...having watched both of them through their entire careers.  I'd take Brady behind both of them.

Montana and Young were both a good cut above all of them.  Then Manning, then Favre.  Those are the Qb's I've watched that I think are the best.

1. Montana
2. Young
3. Manning
4. Favre
5. Elway/Marino
6. Brady
7. Kelly
8. Moon
9. Fouts
10. Brees

That would be the top 10 I've witnessed play.  Honorable mention to Ken Stabler.  Raiders leaned on the running game, but Stabler to Branch and Freddie B. will always have a special place.

He was still throwing for 4,000 yards when he was 40.  Ryan was throwing no hitters when he was 44.  Not sure what you think you are trying to prove when comparing Ryan and Favre, but both are two of the best ever.  Not only the talent, but the desire to keep on going.

Though I will say, that if it came out tomorrow that both of them used performance enhancers at the tail end of their careers, I wouldn't be suprised.  They definitely buck normality.

Both are HOFers. My point was simply that neither should be considered in the "upper tier" all-time at their positions. Ryan was great, but he's also the all-time walks leader. Faver is the all-time INT leader and killed his team multiple times with horrible postseason INTs. You have to weigh the bad with the good. He had a great season in Minny, but he also potentially cost them a trip to the Superbowl with a throw that most high school QBs wouldn't make.
