Tebow Released Topic

If Belichick can't find a use for him, that doesn't bode well for his future.

Hilarious how dipshits like Jtpsops and MikeT were constantly praising Tebow. Now he's out of football 2 years later.

You'd think at some point he'd realize that he has to choose between playing in the NFL, or sitting on his *** at home as a "quarterback".

The funny thing is Tebow can be a useful NFL QB. It's just that teams right now seem to think they have better options. I'd disagree - there are plenty of guys on NFL benches Tebow is better than, as a QB. Add Tebow's athletic skills and versatility to that (because I'm sure he'd be willing to play a down or two in other roles to help the team) and it's odd how no team would at least want to make the guy a third-stringer.

He's a garbage QB and refuses to play another position. He even refused to play wildcat anymore last year for the Jets.

He's a prima donna just like many others.

There are plenty of QB that don't need to ever see the field.    It kind of astounds me that teams using the read/option have pocket passer back-ups     That's why I think Tebow/Young could still be NFL back-ups.    That said, I don't think either of them are very bright so it's entirely possible that teams are saying "Dumbfucks can't be a our back-up!"

mike, tebow isn't good enough to be a backup (and maybe not even a 3rd stringer) and a lot of teams don't even bother keeping a 3rd string QB so his job options are very limited.

Actually, he is.  A read/option guy doesn't have to complete 73% of his passes.   He just needs to be able to hit open receivers consistently.   Tebow seems to be a little lacking there but he could fill in for a half or a game without overhauling the entire offense because RGIII, Kap, Newton, etc, etc got dinged.

Seriously, look at the back-ups in the NFL.   Do you want Derek Anderson behind the wheel?   Mike Glennon?   Tavaris Jackson?  Dominique Davis?   GTFO.

But, FWIW, I do understand why teams don't want Tebow on their bench.   He has a following.   As I've said, repeatedly, your #1 has to be a no-doubter and your coach has to be a "STFU, I decide who's QB" kind of guy.    SF actually looks like a good fit but they have Colt McCoy.

I'd rather have those guys over Tebow.

But I'd rather have Tebow 99 out of 100 times over Blaine Gabbert.

Obviously some GMs agree with you but I think it's less talent-based and more "distraction" based.    The favorite player on 90% of NFL teams is the back-up QB.  IMO, teams are choosing to go with over-the-hill guys and not-so-talented young guys.   Otherwise, you get situations like OAK and NYJ where you have the "QB controversy" that no one but Rex Ryan wants.
