Next Schedule and predictions:
1994 New York Giants (9-7) @1992 Chicago Bears (5-11)
Pick: Bears, 17-7
Neither team is amazingly great, but the Bears will prevail with they're defense.
1950 San Fransisco 49ers (3-9) @ 1998 Detroit Lions (5-11)
Pick: Lions, 31-14
The Lions are better in every category, and Barry Sanders and company will take the Niners
1960 Dallas Texans (8-6) @ 1948 Green Bay Packers (3-9)
Pick: Texans, 24-3
The Pack do not have a QB, and the newer team usually wins. Gotta go with Cotton Davidson and the Texans.
The rest of the predictions will come in the afternoon, then games.

I really like your enthusiasm for the project, man...I'm just not really sure what you're getting at.  I know in your initial post that it says you want to run a simulation with every team, but are you just going to do 1 game at random for each team or?  I'm trying to be constructive here because I like doing these kinds of things too, despite relative unpopularity most times...just curious to know what direction you're going with this.  Again, good stuff...take care.

Yes I am doing one per game.  My reasons:
1. It make for more upsets and surprises
2. It is so much easier
3. I want to do a write up for each game. Would you rather me do a 7 game series and just post scores? Would be fine with that...
Thank you for the nice comments. I like doing this.

I was halfway done, then lost it, then was halfway done, then lost it. Urgghh. I will bold my pick to win, since I do not want to redo all the analysis.
2010 San Diego Chargers (8-8) @ 1990 Cleveland Browns (3-13)
1994 Pittsburgh Steelers (12-4)
@ 1988 Atlanta Falcons (5-11)
1980 New York Jets (4-12) @ 1959 Washington Redskins (3-9)
2011 Kansas City Chiefs (7-9) @ 1970 Houston Oilers (3-10)
1970 Buffalo Bills (3-10) @ 1955 Chicago Cardinals (4-7)
2003 New England Patriots (14-2) @ 1978 Atlanta Falcons (9-7)

How should I present the game scores, and should I stay going 1 game?

49ERS PULL LAST-SECOND VICTORY VERSUS LIONS, 29-27
Can a game get any better than a last-second field goal? I would guess not! Johnny Strzykalski had 138 yards on the ground with a TD, and 26 more in the air. Frankie Albert went 15/24 with 182 yards and 2 TDs, with a 113.5 passer rating. Alyn Beals had 3 receptions for 49 yards and a TD. The Niner's D held Barry Sanders to only 53 yards. Charlie Batch stepped up, going 18/24 with 236 yards, 4 TD's, and a 145.1 passer rating! Herman Moore had 67 yards and a TD. Johnny Morton had 48 yards and 2 TD's. The Niners jumped out to a 20-7 lead at the half. They had a 23-14 lead coming into the 4th. Frankly, they blew it. Johnny Morton caught a 2 yard TD pass to make it 26-21. Then Batch led a 73 yard drive, completed by a 4 yard pass to Herman Moore. They failed the 2-point convertion, but took a 27-26 lead, with less than a minute to go. The Niners drove to the 24. With no time on the clock, Charlie Soltau.... Banged it in! GAME OVER!

Same Old Lions, lofl!

And the reason I asked about the games is that since you posted a "bracket" I thought you were going to run it, tournament-style down from 16 to 8 to 4 to 2 until you had a winner...but if your intent is to simply do what you're doing, then keep at it man, looks like you've simmed/seen some good matchups/games.

10/29/2013 11:19 AM
I think you have it wrong. I am going to go back and keep running it down when the 1st round is over for all teams. Make it more fun to not know who you are going up against in the other bracket.
THANK YOU FOR THE NICE WORDS. I HAVE SEEN SOME SURPRISES AND GOODIES, AND I HAVE JUST STARTED!

TEXANS SHUT OUT PACK, 20-0
A team's legacy is sometimes to much to live up to. This is the Packers. Abner Haynes had 99 yards and a TD on the ground, and added 34 yards, leading the team in the air. Cotton Davidson went 9/21 with 93 yards and a TD, with a 72.1 passer rating. Dave Webster had 3 interceptions, taking over the game. Jack Jacob's statline: 6/21, 93 yards, 0 TD, 3 Interceptions, a 6 passer rating. The Pack had a grand total of... 129 total yards. The Texans had a 3-0 lead after the half, thus the Pack was always in the game. Not much to say about this one exept... BORING!
