Have re-titled this thread... What's it gonna' be...(((???)))... Echo...

----------Who'll Knock-'Em-Down,
-------------& Take "The Cup"
-----------From The L.A. Kings?

Personally... While zoom'n Cali-4-nia's freeways, an "all-sports"
radio-station gave news of the NHL Owners offer 2 the skaters...

A 50/50 revenue split, ---complete w/ an 82-game schedule that
would commence on November 2nd...

Take it, Mr. Union... Otherwise, the 'L.A. Kings' will continue their
effortless defense... & maintain that stronghold on "THE CUP"...

NEW YORK (AP) -- If time spent at the bargaining table indicates progress, the NHL and the locked-out players' association finally could be on their way to making a deal to get hockey back on the ice.

A second straight day of marathon negotiations took place Wednesday, when the two sides spent more than five hours hammering away at the most contentious issues separating them. Coupled with the more than seven hours they spent negotiating on Tuesday, owners and players have been together about 13 hours and are ready to get back to it on Thursday.

Its a write off ,cancel the season ,nobody cares ..ive learned to live without hockey . Ive been a life long hockey fan , now i dont care , they may have lost me forever ..ill watch if nothing else on , but my allegience has turned to Football ..it is my number 1 sport now

You forgot one other option...do we really care anymore???   To be honest, I don't give a &^%$ anymore about the NHL.

I agree with randle..I might watch if nothing is on. Heck I'd rather watch golf or bowling than watch the BHL (Bettman's Hockey League)

NEW YORK (AP) -- Hockey is back, and it took nearly four months and one long night
to get the game back on the ice.

With the season on the line, the NHL and the players' association agreed on a tentative
pact to end a 113-day lockout and save what was left of a fractured schedule.

Commissioner Gary Bettman and union executive director Donald Fehr ceased being
adversaries and announced the deal while standing side by side near a wall toward the
back of the negotiating room and showing a tinge of weariness.

''I want to thank Don Fehr,'' Bettman said. ''We went through a tough period, but it's good
to be at this point.'' A marathon negotiating session that lasted more than 16 hours. Talks
from Saturday afternoon until just before dawn Sunday, produced a 10-year deal.

Where is that FB ...'like' button!!!      The real losers are all the people, small business owners that earn $$ from hockey (people that work the at the arenas, own the small bars etc etc)..  The owners and players....    The reality is that this is a deal that SHOULD have been done over 3 months ago, but the EGOS and posturing etc etc got in the way.   Why are Bettman and Fehr are looking proud?? They, the owners and players should ALL be very ashamed of themselves.

Free agency was mostly completed prior to the lockout, but some teams still have
some unfinished business to wrap up. For teams like the Montreal Canadiens, and
Dallas Stars and New York Rangers
, one of the first things they need to take care of
is re-signing a few stars that are still out on the market as restricted free agents.

Canadiens defenseman P.K. Subban remains without a new contract, as does Rangers
defenseman Michael Del Zotto. Dallas signed veteran winger Jaromir Jagr prior to the
expiration of the previous CBA with the hopes that he could help groom Jamie Benn in
a similar way as he did last season with Philadelphia Flyers' Claude Giroux. In order to
do so, the Stars will need to sign Benn to a new deal.

In addition, several clubs still have a need at defense and could look to improve their
depth with some of the remaining unrestricted free agents on the market. Chris Campoli,
Kurt Sauer, Kurtis Foster and Brett Clark are all still available. Teams in need of a veteran
presence could look to add forwards like Brian Rolston, Daymond Langkow or Jason Arnott.

Free agency will not open until the new CBA is ratified. There will only be a short period of
time -- no more than two weeks -- between that date and the beginning of the season.
