Count me in with a player with one of the greatest nicknames of all time:

Mickey "Froot Loops" Tettleton

How a guy can play 14 years, catch 70% of all his appearances, put up a career 122 OPS+, and only make 2 All-Star Games baffles me, but there it is.
Welcome reddtrain. Thanks for joining, and that's a great pick. I loved Tettleton when I was a kid.

My understanding (and the commish can correct me if I'm wrong) is that only WIS-eligible seasons count - so Javier's first season for these purposes would be 1986 (you have to have your journeyman on your roster).

that makes sense

Hi,

I have a few questions about the league.  My main question is whether it really fits the theme of the league to allow players that did not play on 4 different teams during the 12 seasons that will be used (the example of Tino Martinez was used earlier)?  Can you clarify to all players on the forum whether this is allowed or not?

2) Specsman said he would take Tino Martinez but specsman and Tino Martinez are not on the list of teams/journeyman.

3) When twisting players, can you play seasons of a twisted player that precede the journeyman's rookie year?

4) Are twisted players that appear on a team roster of your journeyman during a particular season at baseball-reference website eligible to be on a team or do they also have to be WIS eligible during that same season.  Which criteria determines eligibility or must both criteria be met?

I will enter a team but will submit a journeyman pending answers to these questions .

Tino is not eligible, I have already informed specsman of that via sitemail, and no, those players don't fit the criteria.

When twisting a teammate, you can use any WIS eligible season of his, so long as he was on the same team for one game as your Journeyman during the season we are currently in.

BBRef determines eligilibility, if a guy had 1 plate appearance as a teammate of your journeyman in season 1, you can use any season of his career.

Thanks for asking.

I have not created the league yet, as I've been waiting to see how many teams are going to sign up. I will be sending a league sitemail this weekend to discuss # of teams. Thanks for joining.

Actually, according to BBRef, Jay Howell made the All Star team in 85, 87, and 89, so he would not be eligible per the rules.

this seems interesting - I like journeyman leagues - but I have not done progressives in ages

let me understand what you do when the focal player plays for two teams in a season - say the Giants and the Dodgers - do you have to use guys only from one team or the other or can you use anyone who was a teammate?  I saw a statement about such years, but did not understand the answer - sorry
