Due to the overwhelming popularity of the Champs & Chumps genre, we're rolling out Random Champs & Chumps Golden Age Edition to test your skill at drafting players from 1910-1960.

This league puts a creative spin on traditional random leagues. Owners should have all the fun of building a solid team from a random pool of players, with the added challenge of having to pick 75% of the roster from a pool of teams that finished .500 or below.

Each owner will be given four random groups of teams from 1910-1960. These groups will be separated in to NL, AL  and FL (Federal League) teams. For example, you might get the following draw:

NL 1937
AL 1919
NL 1956
NL 1943

Next each owner must choose one group to designate as their “Champs Group.” The rest of the groups will be designated as “Chumps Groups.”

You may build your team using players from any team that finished over .500 in your Champs Group and players from any team that finished .500 or below in your Chumps Groups. Each roster must have exactly six players from the Champs Group with the rest of the roster composed of Chumps. At least six players must be chosen from each remaining chump group. Players may not be twisted. You must use the players from the years you draw.

If a player you wish to draft split time between leagues, you may not use that player's full season.  However if you are considering the full season of a player who split time between two of your chump teams, or two of your champ teams, then you may use the full season. 

So the two differences between Champs & Chumps Golden Age and Regular Champs & Chumps are:

1) In Golden Age, you may use teams that finished exactly .500 for your Chumps Groups; and
2) We are using the DH.

You probably have some pretty mean Aarons in there though.  The problem with Babe is that he is hardly ever a chump.  I have great babe / gherig years that will have to go to waste unless I want a garbage pitching staff!

Mays and Aaron, as well as Stan the Man. Pitching isn't awesome, but I can probably deal with it.
