MLB102477 - The first edition of this league is winding down and it turned out to be a wild league. For example, 1927 Babe Ruth is leading the league in homers with 130 HR's in 132 games. Ligapelota is leading the race to capture the $10 WIS GC with 622 team homers in 132 games. For the sequel, I've made some changes and added some twists. Check below to see the new league parameters:

$120 million cap
1920-2011 player pool
Yes DH, Yes Clones, Yes Trades, Yes WW (must follow theme rules), Yes Live Play (not required)
AAA - 4/2 Above Average that you select yourself (must also follow league rules)
No injuries, No Trans Deadline
24 team league with normal playoff seeding
$10 WIS GC to owner that hits the most Team Homers
Random Sim Alignment
19 Ballparks that favor homers are available to choose from


Now the for the fun stuff:

All pitchers must have min 1.0 HR/9 - except for one. This year one pitcher can have whatever HR/9 you want. I cut out the deadballers to make it a little more interesting.  Can Pedro, Maddux, Big Unit, Koufax, or Gibby handle the big boppers in launching pad parks? Hopefully we'll find out.

In the first league 21 players have eclipsed 100 homers so far. The homers should be even more prolific in league 2.

A few funny numbers from league #1:

14088 total homers were hit
260 homeruns were hit league wide everyday in the 3 game cycle
Every team averaged 3.6 homers per game
8 of the top 10 homer hitting teams were .500 or better with 5 of the top 10 making the playoffs
The league averaged 7.8 strikeouts per team, per game
27 players hit over 100 homers on the season (10 of which weren't named Babe Ruth)
scaughlans' 1927 Babe Ruth hit 156 in 162 games to lead the league which translates to $81,317 per homer
In comparison, scaughlans' 1961 Roger Maris hit 104 homers at a cost of $56,672 per homer
