I'll take the 2011 AL squad, then.  If we change the salary for any reason, let me know.  I had two other teams I like but had a salary of over $160m, haha

Whoa what teams were those?  Were you using a 25 man roster?  LOL

My 2002 AL team came in at $128 million and I used the most expensive bench players I could.

I want to say a 2001 team.  There were over 2000 IP using the 9 or 10 pitchers on the roster.  May have been with Schilling, Johnson, Bonds, Gonzo, etc.  Some of those guys have extrodinarily obscure seasons (ie Luis Gonzalez).  By the time I needed to add my bench, I had already eclipsed the salary cap. May have been a different year, but those salaries stand out from that year.

Hey my 65 NL team only has 25 players...8 pitchers and they total up to bout 165 mil...gotta move cap up yes?

I think raising the cap is going to be unfair to some of the other teams that aren't anywhere close to $140.  See my comments above about my 2002 AL team.  I think the best thing to do would be to pick a different year talismen25.  It's unfortunate the earlier all-star teams don't have much roster flexibility.  Perhaps we should just use 1969-2012???

The only way to get this team under $140 mil is to cut Barry Bonds!!

Ahhhh I'm a 60's guy, thought we were gonna find the best team for that era...my team shouldn't be any better because of difference in cap, there are just so many innings, so teams like mine have over kill...no Koufax for me later years, sorry

Sounds like several guys were building other teams with same problem...original cap was Los higher

I'll take the 1984 NL if u still have spots

Ya my hi salary is going to be on superfluous innings for pitching and hitting...no one to cut with only 25 guys.. How bout asking others if they have a problem with 165 mil cap...I would like to prove my era was the best!

And I will take an A.L. Squad in that era also, if 2 teams are cool

2 teams would be just fine.  I'm not sure about raising the cap that much but if it helps join the league and you really want 1965 I will petition the other owners.

I would be fine with raising the cap,,,a lot of that extra money is going to be sitting on the bench anyway.
