I've recently hosted 2 Birth Year leagues... first one was a team starting with your birth year and the next consecutive 24 years (soup style). The second, which is now in the playoffs, started with your birth year and the preceding 24 years. I've been ruminating on how to continue this theme and this is what I've come up with:
Take your birth year (for me, 1956) and using Baseballreference.com, your player pool will come from the following four lists -
*1956 Major League Baseball Died This Year
*1956 Major League Baseball Born This Year
*1956 Major League Baseball New Debuts
*1956 Major League Baseball Retirements
24 players on your roster
MUST come from these 4 lists according to YOUR birth year and you can use any season of theirs... no minimums or maximums per list. The 25th player can be a "bonus" player from your birth year. For example, Mickey Mantle doesn't appear on any list for 1956 but I could draft his 1956 season as my "bonus player".
I will post my team and the player connections to each list in the Theme Leagues Forum after I create the league. Each owner will have to post their roster and connections there as well in order to receive the league#.
Salary Cap - $110M
No AAA, WW, DH, clones, trades or live play
Injuries turned off
Random realignment
Choose any stadium
YEARS ARE NOT EXCLUSIVE
