I had no tight races at all, which was a surprise from the other direction. For most the season I had 3 really tight races, but two surges and a collapse meant that they resolved themselves practically by the trade deadline.

Ironically, my 80M team in round 1 was also in a tough division.  They won 93 games and missed the playoffs.  Needless to say, I guess I did a decent job building that roster (Progressive/Regressive theme).

In the 60M theme, I threw away 21 potential wins, by relying on massively fatigured mopup guys for 143 innings (they went a combined 0-21 with a 18.35 ERA).  The rest of my staff went 79-62 with a 3.02 ERA in 1302 innings.... and most of that was at 90-94%.

I was lucky to be in a weak division and luckier to not completely fall into the Fatigue Death Spiral.

Four playoff teams, four first-round exits.  Three game 5 losses.  F*ck this game.

That's horrible; I'm really sorry. I wish there was some way to avoid these 5 game series.

I'm facing mildnhazy in 2 LCSs. And I would have faced him in a third if he hadn't lost a game 5. Those two series will go a long way to settling the WISC.

I'm facing you in 3 of them.  As much as you would have liked otherwise, I won that game 5.  I see you won 2 of your game 5's this evening and have put through all 4 of your teams....might as well give you the championship now.

I don't know how I misread that. Good luck in the 3 LCSs we will be running!

What happens in the 90M league could change this, but whoever comes out on top in those 3 LCSs we have should have a pretty good chance of winning the whole thing. Last year came down to a WS between the top 2 finishers, this year feels similar, except it's happening one round earlier. Should be fun.

Actually, I wasn't expecting huge success from my playoff teams.  Two were lucky to advance anyway.  I was hoping one of my 90-win teams would win a series or two.

What really ticked me off happened right about the same time... I had a 108-win team in a theme league lose in round 1 to an 87-win team (3 games to 1).  This 108-win team actually underperformed during the season (the Pythagorean expected win total was 111).

wow, that does suck.  at least i only had to suffer with 1 playoff team, blew 9th-inning leads in games 1 and 2.  out in 3.

Reminds me of my Round One playoff debacle last year...

0-4 in game 1 of the LCSs. Overall win probability probably down by 20-30% in one batch of games.

For comparison, a team that gives up a TD on the opening kickoff has (according to the win prob calculator at advancednflstats.com), a 28% chance of winning. Without running the numbers, that feels like about how much the 0-4 cost me. And, psychologically, it feels like a kickoff return TD to open the game. At least they are 7 game series...

Congratulations mildnhazy! Unless I've miscounted (always possible) you've clinched. Really impressive performance across the board - I just couldn't match the consistency you showed.

Five of the six leagues are just starting the World Series.  Once the 110M gets there, I will post updated standings.
