I think having Shaq would suck the most. Can't choose Kobe, Wade, Payton, Malone, Lebron and for most of his career it was really Shaq and a 2 guard and no real star with the rest of them

another question...

i have penny hardaway....he was traded to the magic during the 05-06 season and then waived two days later....could i use players from the 05-06 magic?

The player would have to have made at least one appearance with the team, so this scenario would not work.

I'm using basketball-reference.com to see for which teams my players played. I suggest you use that website, too.

Anyone have any thoughts about playing someone at SF with effectiveness of 93?
I'm no sim expert, but I'd be a little wary of it given the fact that we're working with a pretty low cap (so you don't have money to waste).  I haven't gone lower than 97% effectiveness for a starter at a given position, and even at that level I could swear I notice a slight difference.

benji, coachcroft, dh, supperrob and thomcat are among those favored by fortune.

I've got too much usage and too little rebounding to contend with.  At least all three of my dudes play defense and get to the line.  This will be interesting.

I like me....a lot!
You've got 3 studs for sure.  I wouldn't deliberately put those three players together with a cap this low and I haven't really tried Kobe in this version of the sim (high usage + mediocre eFG%).  But you especially lucked out with rockstars at PG and C.

So in a nutshell, I can choose any season of any player who

A.  At some point played with one of my three players;

and,

B.  Is not one of the 69 others who form trios.

Correct?

Oooooh.  Man.  I have made this way to complicated on myself.  I was under the assumption that if I used say, 67-68 Wilt, I could only use players from the 67-68 76ers.  That is not the case?

Robusk. I think I have it. I have MJ and I want Kerr on my team. Im using the 95-96 Jordan. I dont have to use the Kerr that was on that team. As long as I am using a version of Kerr when he played alongside Jordan (IE 94-95). I cant twist him and use his Spurs years.

right what he is saying is if you pick 67-68 wilt because he was with the 76ers you can only use people that played with him from 64-65 to 67-68 his years with the 76ers..

so your best bet if possible is to use the Lakers or the SF/Phily Warriors season

Yeah...because Shaq never played with Ray Allen, or Nick Anderson, or Dennis Scott, or Lamar Odom, or Steve Nash, or Amare Stoudemire.

I can see the problems...lol

I dont think that is it.

He could use Wilt from any year, and use any teammate of Wilt from anytime in his career.  So he could use 60-61 Wilt and use Pat Riley who he played with the year he retired in 72-73 and choose the 75-76 season when he was in Phoenix.

Okay, I have Karl Malone.  Say I want to use Donyell Marshall, who played for the Mailman-Stockton Jazz in 00-01 and 01-02.  I have to pick one of those two Donyell seasons, right?  I can't twist over to his studly 03-04 season.

This is the way I am understanding it and doing it now.  I built a spreadsheet with each player season in which that season of that player was on a team with one of my three guys and using that as my pool.  This is correct, right?
