If a player has 100 left and needs 12 spots to get to 25 players, they can only bid 89 on one player.

Let's say this owner needs 10 players more, has 100 and wins the following bids one night.

60
24
8
3
3
3
2
1

He obviously went over. In this case I will award him the highest bids I can and still stay within the cap.

In this case he would win the 60, 24, 8,  2 and 1 players and would have 5 left for his remaining five players.
Here's the example.

Somebody look at my roster and tell me who I paid way too much for. I feel like I have a lot of bargains... but, I also seem to appreciate Aroldis Chapman's arm more than the average guy and everyone must think that Roy Halladay's time as an elite arm is finished. Which was my biggest mistake? If anyone helps me identify "the biggest loser" I will be happy to recipricate ;-)

I am loving this league, but hating the fact that I do not have more cash to spend!!

Agreed!! This league is great. If you overpaid for anyone I'd say it was chapman. Not because I don't think he's great, but I just think it's a lot for a closer. That's really more about a different team building style than anything else though.

Chapman should be a starter in '2013. If he is not, or if I am no longer confident that he will be a starter "pdq"... I plan on cutting him and using the cash on a starter -- nice call ;-)

I was extremely pleased to land Jason Grilli. I played high school ball with his Dad a long long time ago

Didn't really intend for this, but my team is nearly full already.  $107 left for another starter, another bullpen arm and a couple of bench players.

I'd be willing to move Carlos Gomez (41) and/or Matt Holiday (71). Sitemail if interested

Scratch that $103.  I left Humber off my spreadsheet.

I have three decently priced catchers with Alex Avila (49), Ryan Hanigan (44), and Miguel Montero (57).  I'm looking for a second baseman, pitching, or prospects.

i am so pumped to get Adam Jones that i am seriously considering throwing together some cheap uniform design and getting an Adam Jones jersey for my team.  i dont have a name yet, so that could be a limiting factor.  anyone else thought about creating fake memorabilia for our fake teams?

I must admit that I coveted Clayton Kershaw being a long time loyal Dodger fan. I closed my eyes and put in a bid for 162 smackers thinking how could I possibly build a competitive team when almost 1/6 of my cap was to be spent on 1 player and one that would pitch every 5th day to boot.

I had to chuckle when Noser posted the bids and I found out that Mr.. Kershaw went for 45 bucks more than my bid.

Considering that this star player is probably a 5 year sign it means he'll be 1/4 of his team's salary. WWolf will have to be a very acute judge of cheap talent to build a competitive lineup or win lots of 1-0 games.

Still jealous.

I don't get it. But then again, you and I don't have Kershaw, Cabrera, Braun, etc, Don.
