I'm going to take Doug Bair.

Nice job Spotsell.

Who is the perfect player who was taken?
I thought getting Omar Vizquel as late as he went was the steal of the draft.
I think he said the player that fit his needs perfectly was Champ Summers

That was what I was asking, but I like these responses even more.

I think my best pick was Hugh Duffy in Round 17.

The guys who helped me out the most were Derek Jeter, Bernie Williams, and Eddie Mathews.  All had a high number of years at a pretty consistant level of PA's but a nice range of $.  They allowed me to move up or down as needed $ wise without messing with PAs.  Doing spreadsheets was big too.  It became clear I needed a big down grade late in the draft for one season and was able to get Ken Oberkfell to bail me out (replacing Rogers Hornsby as a starter on one team).

Worst pick of the draft... Slam dunk lock.

Elton Chamberlain
My worst pick was Steve Howe. At the time I was really worried about having no leftie pitchers, so I reached a long way for one. Before I picked again, a bunch of players I wanted went off the board, and in later rounds I had to stop taking my top rated pitcher because I was drafting only lefties.

But he's not a bad player to have on the team, just a bad pick where I took him.

Yep, he was great value then. I was stunned Max Carey fell to me in the 13th. After Tim Raines, he is just about the perfect OF for this theme.

Howe was the top guy on my list when you took him.   I  thought it was a good pick!

I was really happy about Gene Tenace and PeeWee Reese in the 20's.   I thought I was going to have to punt catcher but Tennace fits pretty well.   Reese was on my list to take in the 8-13 range but I decided to go with Eddie Stanky.  In hindsight, I probably could have waited on Stanky as well.

My best picks were my first two: Lajoie and Mantle.

My worst pick remains to be seen but I'm sure it will be one of my "starting" pitchers; Caruthers, Rixey, Coveleski or Hendrix.

I jumped into this at the last minute with no prep so my primary goal was to have fun.  My first four picks reflect that as they are just exceptional players whom I enjoy from a statistical and player perspective; Lajoie, Mantle, Joe Jackson, Caruthers.  I am also interested to see how two guys I've never used before do; John Anderson (1B) and Johnny Kling (C).

It looks like my biggest challenges will be at 90M and 110M.  I have no idea how to set up my 110M pitching.  At 90M I worry about batter fatigue.
