What are the best players, measured in value per dollar amount, for 50 mil?

$3M-$5M -- Alex Smith and similar defensemen
<=$1M -- defensive specialist forwards

Defensively, Smith, Arbour and Harris, all under $4 million. For forwards in that price range, Jarvis, Richard, & Maki, all $3.5-4.1 million.
At $165,000, imo, you can't beat Helman or Larochelle for cheap defense.

Also, in a $50M league I don't think any forward or defensemen costing $8M+ is a good value.  22-23 Joe Malone may be one of the worst values per $.

I don't think 85-86 Gretzky is a good value.
