All-Time favorite WIS team Topic

This idea was spawned from the WIS user interview with skunk206 about some of his favorite WIS players so I thought I would put together a team of players that I haven enjoyed using over the years.

Now, this is not necessarily an all-star team, or the most expensive player at each position, but these are my go to players that seem to perform well at any cap!

Caminiti always does well for me, however that iteration of the Trammell?   Never been able to get close to his RL the times I've used him in applicable themes.   Love the '72 Sutton, have used him dozens of times without any problems or worse than expected performances.

The pitcher I've drafted most often is probably 1919 Babe Adams, and the batter 1899 John McGraw.  They never disappoint.

By chance, I drew Babe Adams as the captain for the current season of my own Random Captain theme (90M cap).  1919 Adams just lost an AM pitching duel, 1-0, to redwingscup's 1969 Mike Cuellar.  111 games in and Adams is 18-10 with a 2.59 ERA and #1 in Cy Young voting.

Ooh good point crazystengel, 1969 Mike Cuellar would be a SP I should add to this list!  What I didn't want to do was list the king's like 1908 Addie Joss, 1909 Mordecai Brown, or 1995 Greg Maddux.  Everybody knows those pitchers dominate!

Another SP I love to use is 1942 Mort Cooper!

I like 1945 Roger Wolff as a back-of-the-rotation guy if I want to save a little money on pitching.

I felt lucky to win that game. Cueller has been pitching well for my team, although he has a "hard luck" record

I'm having success with 1983 Tom Niedenfuer for the first time ever, but not enough to supplant 1987 Dave Smith as my favorite closer!

94 DeShields & 80 North are a couple of personal favorites.

81 Butcher is my favorite closer.

Thought 1976 Billy North was the cookie?!?

I like 80 better. You have to put him in the right spot in the lineup though.

Bill North and I went to the same college...
