Someone, I think it was Weena, gave me this tip for evaluating guys when I was first starting out. Looking over the responses on the first page, it seems to work pretty well most of the time (except for sky's the limit - are we sure that is high-high?).

Look for *asterisks* or ALL CAPS - those are the high-high indicators.
yes, we are sure about sky's the limit. and that is a good tip from weena :)

I know this is a pretty old thread, but I was searching for something and stumbled across it.

Check out the ratings history on this player:

PE: 26 -> 96. wow--talk about high highs.

i had a +80 once, i think lp and per are not capped, even a 10 high could be a 100 max. but the rest of the ratings are capped, at least from what i've seen.

I have a guy who has played 2 & 3/5 seasons and had his PER grow from 10 to 63, and still growing at nearly a point a day. He's going to run out of time before he can max it out though, whatever that max may be. It certainly does happen every once and a while.

he should at least get to 80 or so, which means he will turn black at some point so you'd know his cap. with a 10 high being the lowest possible high (as a starting rating), that guy could be the extreme edge case.

My starting center started at 10 LP, and is now at 76 with 6 games left in his junior season - and still in the black:

In D 3, I've got a sg who has gone from 25 perimeter to 96 perimeter and he's only a junior. Work ethic in 60's.
