Worst teams ever Topic

Here are 2 SIM AI teams from my DIII conference in Phelan. They must be the 2 worst teams I have ever seen.

Marymount

Gallaudet

Gallaudet has a handful of usable to semi-usable players (yes, I'm being generous when I say usable, but they keep them from being historically bad....)
As for Marymount, obviously very young and bad, but one functional senior and some decent player growth means they really aren't that bad, only this season.

I remember in Crum a few seasons back a SIM team had a rating 396

In Naismith many seasons back, when I was tracking the disproportionate number of Sim teams with 3+ walkons, there was a conference that had two teams that each had 10 walkons on roster. I can't remember if they were SimAI coached or ghost-shipped though.

that's pretty bad.  makes me think it was ghost-shipped.  i coached econn in another world and it's in a really great recruiting spot...you could be completely incompetent and still field a decent team there.

Doesn't really count but back when you could play your first season for free, a coach took over an entire D3 conference with alt ID's and had the 11 teams essentially all walkons so that the 1 "good" team could win.  A couple of those teams had overall ratings that were around 350 or so if memory serves.  I put "good" in quotes because that team probably wasn't good enough to make the PIT were it not for rigging all 16 conference games.

Also not sure this really counts but Allen D3 was completely gutted a year ago when WIS had a free team promo that coincided with March Madness.  Dozens of folks signed up for a team, no showed in recruiting, and apparently the sim couldn't handle it properly because instead of doing the normal fill all but 2 schollys when a human misses recruiting, a good number of teams (30+) had 6 or more walkons with a handful of teams in the double digits.  I think a couple of other worlds were impacted as well but the promo tied closest to Allen's rollover and thus had the biggest impact.

This is Austin in Crum DIII. At one time, they lost 118 consecutive games, some by horrible scores like 94-29.

I don't know how many are out there, but a few users do this on purpose.  We had a guy in the Empire 8 of Knight D3 coaching Rochester Tech for several years who just retired.  He was always 1-26 or 0-27, and for the first few seasons I assumed he had bought a five-pack or a ten-pack and then lost interest.

But as the streak mounted I looked more closely, and it was clear he was going for broke, so to speak:  He was actually moving players around occasionally, doing stuff like putting a power forward at point guard, and a couple of times he scheduled another human coach who was clearly doing the same thing.  One of their classic battles went two OT's and Roch Tech pulled out the big loss, putting them on the road to accomplishing the D3-worst RPI that season.  They "succeeded" in doing so in three of six seasons.

There seemed to be an unwritten code to it.  Neither of those guys ever had more than two walk-ons at once that I can remember.

Ghost ships are harder to turn around than longtime simmies....

Wow.  I can't believe someone would go through that much trouble to win their conference.  And it's a terrible idea from an RPI standpoint.

this was the worst D2 team I ever saw.   A few years back, season 19-21.
http://whatifsports.com/hd/TeamProfile/Default.aspx?tid=7302

committed almost 50 fouls a game.  and with a ghost coach they often lost 2-3 guys to grades.
One season almost every eligible player averaged more than 5 fouls per game.

Plus they also broke the prestige machine as their D- was so low it rolled over to an A+.
