Bolton, I'm new to this as well, but I can tell you that whichever offense you pick, it will have it's own nuances. You will have to recruit with your offense in mind learn how to effectively gameplan based on what you've got. The Hoops 101 page gives a very basic overview of each offense and defense. Other can go more in-depth as to what works best.

You may want to look at your current roster to see what your young players are like who will be learning the new offense from the beginning...

Just don't do what I did and change offense when you have 6 freshman .... one who came in with a C- in what I was switching to.  Ouch.

I've heard on here it's a 2.5-3 yr process to switch an O or D, based on my first 20 games I would agree.

I would think that'd be exactly the time to switch offenses.

Maybe long term yeah, but making this year very painful.  Won 25 games last year, 6-14 so far this year.  The old prestige will be taking a hit

With six new guys, wasn't it anyway?

Play the old offense/ defense on slowdown with getting tired for the starters and depth that have decent iq in the old offense/defense, while practicing the new o and or d. When the new o or d is equal or better than the old one, switch.
