I think there may have been a thread dedicated to this long ago, but for those who don't know, I'm currently a college student attending a DIII school and the disparity in sizes among some of the teams at the DIII level is astonishing to say the least... But today my school faced a team with a point guard who was listed as 5'7" but was no taller than 5'5" (maybe even 5'4"), which got me thinking, in HD what's the tallest and shortest players can be?

I know I had a 7'3" center on a DI team I had awhile back in Smith, but I don't know if I've seen taller.  That and I think I had a 5'7" guard once, but I'm not sure I've seen shorter than that.

I know it's not something everyone looks for, since it's mainly window dressing, but I'm just curious.  The heights seem to generally range from around 5'9" to 7'0" for your typical player in HD.  I'd be curious to see if there are any 5'5" players or 7'6" players and I'd be even more curious to see what ratings they have.

I've played a good number of seasons in HD and honestly can't remember if I've ever looked at a player's height.

That doesn't make it a bad question but as you say, not something some (most) people look at.

I have a 7'2" freshman center in D3.

Only time I remember a height its because I had a 5'8" small forward in the middle of a bunch of 6'4" or taller other starters.
This post has a rating of , which is below the default threshold.

Bumping an old thread here. I just signed a 5'6" PG. That's the smallest I've seen.

I wish height played a more significant role in this game.

A 6'1 SF with superior skills should have trouble defending or scoring against a 6'7 sf with less skills and athelticism

the idea as expressed by seble is that the 6'1 SF with superior skills would have even better skills if he had been 6'7 while the 6'7 less skilled player would be even less skilled were he only 6'1...

I've got a 5'6" 144 lb. backup PG on my Texas team.  That's the smallest overall guy I've ever seen.

I went back and looked at my past rosters to see if I had any abnormally sized players.  While I had nobody under 5'8 or over 7'1, I did find an abnormally small team I happened to put together.

This is my season 43 Wisconsin La Crosse team in wooden:
PG's went 5'8, 5'8, 5'11
SG's were 5'8, 6'1, 6'2
SF's were 6'2, 6'2
PF was 6'6
C's were 6'5, 6'7, 6'7

We only won 12 games that year.

I would also like to see height be at least a BIT more than window dressing. For example, a 6'1 division 1 SF trying to defend a 6'7 SF would struggle mightily, as long as the 6'7 kid wasn't just a bum. I don't see that reflected in HD right now.

My leading scorer at the moment is 5'7", 165 lb - http://whatifsports.com/hd/PlayerProfile/Ratings.aspx?tid=0&pid=2664327

And I didn't know that until just now when this thread made me check.

Quite awhile back, when I was in D3, I remember having a center that was 7'1 and a PG that was 5'6. I pictured them as roommates, in an "Odd Couple" sort of way...
