Kid has a great GPA (3.49) and lots of high potentials (all unknown highs). He is unhappy about the R/S. Is losing the 16 points of WE (more importantly going from 60 to 44) enough of a negative to counteract the positives of the extra year of development? My instinct is to leave the R/S on as I think he can still reach max growth with a 44 starting WE and the extra year of IQ practice can be helpful... do folks agree?

I have a similar situation going on right now.  I had a dude go from 70 to 50.  I took it off only because I have another guy who is pretty similar.  If you don't have a similar option, I wouldn't worry about it.   Five years at 44+ is probably still better than 4 years at 70.

Plus, it isn't like he can play right away.   I would leave it on.

Dac I just had the same thing with my PG @ Davidson and his WE dropped from 80's to 69. If there is nowhere to play him now it seems like a no brainer.

leave it

He can definitely still max out at 44 WE with 5 years and some decent PT when he is eligible.

That drop is nothing.  Leave it on.
