D1 COACHING ELIGIBILITY Topic

It seems to me that the coaching eligibility is too tight.  A human coach is always preferable to a SIM.  I am in a couple of mid-major conferences and we actively try to recruit new coaches to join us.  It is frustrating when are recruiting efforts are rewarded by the applicants being turned down.  I think the sim teams should always take the best human applicant that applies.  What do you guys think?

I would agree that 99.99% of the time a human coach is preferable to a Sim coach, but that 0.01% the rest of the time the human coach is named Reigny.  Those familiar with his "resume" will understand exactly what I mean.

Ahahaha. How true.

Is he still an active coach.  I'm in 5 worlds and the name does not ring a bell.

I completely agree with this, and further, for those who didn't read it the first time I said it...once you qualify for D1, you should always be qualified for at least 1 D1 job, even if it's the worst job available.

Yeah, but how would Norman Dale happen if that was the rule

I've always wondered what this guys deal is.  An account used for cheating?

Think "Hoosiers".

Ah Hoosiers ... every time I watch it I still tear up whenever Jimmys says "I'll make it"

Firings would have to be amped way up

Taco I agree ... the hook would need to be sharpened as a result but I believe that would be a fair trade off and would make the paying customers happier with increased mobility.

LOLOL. Don't hate on him too much, he boosted both of our winning percentages quite a bit.

I do think it's absurd that being a D1 coach you can get turned down for another D1 job in favor of the sim AI. I can understand the engine not favoring every user coach over a sim, simply because then you can have a first year D3 coach getting some C presitge BCS school, which obviously is not how the system should work. But I would think a coach that has had a couple of winning season at a crappy prestige D1 school should not be getting turned down to a C prestige BCS school in favor of the Sim AI.
