What is the team? Some have loyalty or other considerations.

The team I was looking to apply for is Iowa State, I have A+ reputation and A+ loyalty and spent all 10 seasons listed above at New Mexico

It makes no sense that it is more difficult to get hired by Iowa State than New Mexico. The Hoiberg-led Cyclones are doing great, but to have the Cyclones programmed with higher prestige than the Lobos (if that is indeed the case), is stupid. If the HD Cyclones do not have higher prestige, it makes it even more silly that after 7 postseason appearances in 10 seasons, this coach cannot move from UNM to ISU.

I was told the previous three season's are all the system is looking at.  If their logic is correct, the previous seven are not even part of the formula!  71-20 with two NT bids is pretty strong in my book!  I wonder sometimes the why's, and this is one of those cases.

it used to be that only the last 4 seasons mattered, but now in d1 that has been expanded. im pretty sure it was never just the last 3

I've always favored a little looser job/qualification process than a stricter one...I don't want things to be too easy, and I certainly don't want to undermine the guys that have "made it" but it's pretty ridiculous.  There are D1 teams in at least Tark and Knight (probably Phelan?) that have never had a human coach...I mean, c'mon now.  Even from a business standpoint, I know I've stopped playing because of screwy D1 job requirements, and I was only trying to get a D prestiged D1 team, so would you rather ease up a bit and keep everyone happy, or have someone quit because they can't get to where they deservedly want to go?

I think at the bare minimum...if you have played D1 for at least 1 season in a particular world, you should ALWAYS be eligible for a D- prestige D1 team...ALWAYS.

If the most recent season is at the bottom of your list, then I am thinking your current team is a B- prestige and the team you are trying to join is an A+ prestige, that might be why you are not qualified. If the the order is opposite, then my theory is wrong.

If baker doesn't mind, I'd like to know for my own edification if everyone believes the OP should be qualified, regardless of how the engine actually works and the merits/demerits of same?

Should the resume posted qualify a coach for the vacant position in question?

Most recent is at the top of the list

Voted "yes" but it's close.  UNM has never been a slam-dunk at-large bid under bb, and has never won an NT game... if the Big 12 is a dominant conference in Tark I can see how a solid school in a truly élite conference fallen on hard times might think they could do better.

This is a classic example of why schools should slightly relax their job requirements on the last day, or maybe just the half day.  bb deserves a shot here, but I wouldn't blame Iowa State for holding out through the jobs period to see if they can do better.
