Am self employed - I spend an inordinate amount of time on the forums. Especially with the recent contributions of a certain poster.

My bad habit is similar. I used to get mad and just be like, "FINE! JUST GO TO THAT OTHER SCHOOL THEN!!! SEE IF I CARE!!!!"

I tend to try to be constructive in the forums even when a poster obviously has no interest in real discussion or information

This.  For about 10-15 seasons I always scheduled one road non-con game within 300 miles of the hometown of each recruit, some time in the four years i had the player, so that each player could play once in front of mom and dad.

I have a bad habit of wanting to know too many potentials and thus spending more money than I should on scouting reports/FSS.

I also used to have a bad habit of attempting to recruit players from in/around my hometown (I'm from New Jersey, the school I coach  now is in Indiana) if they were even remotely decent players.

My worst habit is probably my refusal to take a walk-on, which has led me to sign some godawful players with a start and a scholly.

yeah, I used to do Senior home games for all of my players, a la Dean Smith. Then I got too lazy.

Yeah I fight the urge to recruit crappy players from my HS every time I see one.

I also tend to go overboard on players with interesting names who are good, but maybe not great..  Michael Jackson is one that comes to mind.

I had three Dikembe's on my team at one point.

1. I used to attempt to over many season to play every team in HD at div 3 level.. i think i got 2/3 of the way there. but then had 2-3 teams that were coached since day 1 by the same person that would never schedule me back. thus ending my run..
2. I think i suck at recruiting, but typically have a few guys get national recognition after i leave a school.
