I haven't thought about it a lot, but for starters I'll guess that it affects tournament chances for bubble teams.

What about D2 and D3?

As we all know humans are better than Sims from what I've found at d2 and d3 its where the most humans flock. In wooden freedom conference is awful probably because no coaches ever went and crum freedom is the best just thought I'd share this it strikes me very oddly

I think it has pretty minimal effect since baseline prestige doesn't really matter. Also there tends to be a smaller range in D2 and D3 than D1.

Does anyone know if conference prestige has any kind of impact on recruiting, if you are battling a school from another, less prestigious conference?

Maybe I'm wrong but I've always understood that conference prestige IS a factor in recruiting. Perhaps I read it in a dev blog way back, but I always assumed it had a small but significant effect on how attractive your school is to a recruit.

I can't imagine conference prestige has any tangible effects outside of DI.
