Can Man 2 Man work at DIII?

Does Zone work at DI???

Man can work quite adequately at division three Got pretty far with it as Averett last year and previous years.

I dunno if I'm a smart coach, but I at least make periodic deep runs.

Also, zone is underrated, I think.

Did you mainly stay at 0 defensive positioning ?  or did you gameplan each game?  ever go +5 or -5 defensive positioning??

Well. Many other people may give you different answers, but I personally use plus minus settings quite a bit. And yes, I use minus five if, for example, another team has no perimeter threats or only has one that I think I can successfully double team. Plus five is rarer for me, but if, say, a team is shooting over forty percent of its shots from three it's a distinct possibility.

Zone is great because it gives you great flexibility in how to gameplan for the opponent ,as well as who to recruit for your SF spot, how many guys you have to play, and how long you get to play your starters.  

True, if you want to make the most of a short roster and spend your recruiting monies in a more concentrated manner, zone is good for that too.

OR has 3 straight S16 runs at Alabama in Phelan running zone. I think it works great if you recruit properly. I think CBG actually won a D1 title running zone - that's my goal -

I've won D3 titles with man and 3-2 and a D2 title with press. Press seems the most popular defense overall, but I have had more success with man than anything else. 

I am starting to be convinced that the press is not the best defense at D1. I have made several trips to the final 4 but never gotten a title at D1, whereas I had great success with it at D3.

I use all 3.

I've had too many disappointments using zone vs. lesser teams in the tourney. I typically prefer man.
