Way to go, ludlow!  Even though I hate losing to you so often in the SIAC, you did a masterful job with your team!

Dammit, I was just about to see if my conference-mate dcy pulled it out. Well congrats anyway on being able to finish it off, just glad I didn't have to play you.

Congratulations. I predict this record will never be beat.

sorry lud.

been done at least once before in d2:

california u (pa)   sergei1991     36-0   wooden season 0061

nevertheless,   awesome accomplishment and great season

the only other time it has been done  (unless someone else did it in the past 14 months or did it in D1) was also in wooden,(d3)

johns hopkins    bluedog129    36-0   wooden season 0003

neither of those teams appeared to have as difficult  a schedule as you  (sos 8 and 17)

Amazing accomplishment because so much can happen from game to game but it would be really impressive to see it done by a team that didn't have all upperclassmen.

So it sounds like the only thing left undone is 36-0 at D1.

Yeah, that nonconference against almost all mediocre sim teams on the road is crazy impressive.

Since the number of teams per division varies, I would imagine the number of teams playing 11 nonconf games would also be different between divisions.  Anyone know how many 11th non-conf games are played in each division?

in d3,  there were 1386 teams that had 11 non con games in the first 699 seasons of HD.  so normally about 2 teams per year.

in d2 there were 8389 teams that played 11 non con games in the first 699 seasons,   so normally about 12 teams per year.

not sure if those numbers have been fairly steady since year 1 or if it happens more or less frequently than it used to.  not sure why so many in d2.

now that i think of it,  im really surprised that team played 36 games in season 0003 of wooden.  because in the early days the whole non conf schedule was random and we didnt have any input.    i would have thought it woud have been easy to generate a schedule where all teams had 10 non cons when there was no human scheduling to mess things up.

There should really be no reason for any team to have to play an 11th non-con game with this many sim teams.

There are an even number of teams in every division so I don't understand why there is ever an 11th non-conference game at all.  Every team should be able to get 10 games in the first 10 slots.  Is the 11th game about getting a 10th game for that team's opponent?
