It is ridiculous how good zone is at lower levels. While no longer the hardest DIII world, Wooden DIII is still ultra competitive, and the last 3 championships were won by teams playing the zone defense.
Let's put that in perspective for a second:
Zone is by far the least played defense among human coaches in DIII, and yet it is winning at an extremely disproportionate rate!
