When setting up distribution is one strategy better than another? Spread out the rating equally, max one guy out or just put a 1, 2 or 3?

totally depends on the makeup of the team...if you have one standout player (either because he's elite for the division you're at or because he's clearly the best on your team) you're probably going to load up on him. If you've got a team of interchangeable parts, you might balance it out more. The type of defense you face will also play a role potentially due to match ups that dictate bumping touches from one player to another or getting the ball to a certain type of player more.

In my opinion, the distribution is one of the most interesting elements of the game in so far as how it can dictate outcome and control the overall feel of your team. I know some folks set it and forget it, but I'm at the other end of the spectrum...I'm tweaking my distro numbers almost every single game. Definitely something worth playing with and finding a system that feels right for you.

I agree with that just getting another opinion. Thanks

I've been told that motion you generally want to spread out the wealth and it's harder to get the 1 or 2 superstars to score a bunch, unless you set there distro WAY high. The other offenses you can get 1 or 2 guys to score a ton with not a lot of distro.  Depends on your offense set is my point.

I run a triangle with one guy at a 5 two of my starters at 2 the other 2 at 1 and the 5 guy shoots generally 25 to 30 a game

Shouldn't it ideally add up to 100?
5/26/2015 4:10 PM
No, it's a ratio.....in the 5-2-2-1-1 scenario the 5 takes about 46% of the shots, the 2's take 18% and 1's 9% when they are all on the court together in a vacuum....other factors apply though like defense, setting, defender and double teams

Not necessarily wrong, but probably driving yourself insane trying to get everything to add up to 100 ;)

Been there, done that, have the club membership.

So what do non-starters get set at and is adding to 100 wrong or just a waste of time? The rating is just the percent of plays ran to that person correct? thanks again for the advice

There's nothing wrong with setting it at 100, it's just more complicated than a lot of players care to get. Going to 100 gets the greatest potential for differential between your primary options and your non-scorers, so there can be some strategy involved there.

I normally go to 100 or close to...I think hating on someone else's strategy is pretty bush league

I guess I haven't been doing it wrong after all.

I use the 100 also.
