Ahhh, now that is a good quote. Though I don't fully understand why people treat him as the poster boy for classic nihilism? I mean, he embraced the destruction of objective meaning but its not like that's were he left off...if anything after that seems to be the point at which his aesthetic philosophy really begins to crystallize. Though by that time his writing style had gotten so demonstrative (or petulant, in my opinion) that it can be difficult to discern the subtle aspects that allow his works to be succinctly strung together.
