Midwest actually won Season 8 vs Minnesota, Paul.

Shootout Championships for each conference:

Upstate- 6
Michigan- 2
Midwest- 2
Minnesota- 1

Upstate won 5 championships in a row in seasons 1-5. Since then, their dominance has faded, and no other conference has won consecutive championships. Seems to be a great deal of parity among the Big Four now.

Once again? Last time you guys won the championship was Season 9...three seasons ago. Nothing to be ashamed of, but also not exactly a sign of domination. You guys were kings of Wooden and the Shootout the first 5 seasons of this challenge. But, since then, there has been a lot of parity among the Big Four.

Minnesota is coming for the trophy next season.

Pep, we lost the title in 2 OT games in season 10, prompting you to say:

"Though there were two OT thrillers, Michigan pulled it out and Upstate became mortal again. Michigan wins 6-3. "

Then we couldn't win last season, but won in the consolation, then won again this year. Not much else we could do. We'll see you next season.

Fair enough. You guys did almost win in Season 10.

All I'm saying is that winning for you guys has been a bit more difficult than when we first began this challenge. In the beginning, nobody questioned which conference was best. Now, we can at least argue about it...like we are now. ;)

Snowball Shootout Season 12

Championship Match- Midwest vs Upstate

1. RPI at Beloit (66-56)
2. Grinnell at Chicago (50-55)
3. Washington (MO) at RHIT (66-54)
4. St. Norbert at Brandeis (62-74)
5. Skidmore at Monmouth (75-83)
6. Carroll at Hamilton (38-51)
7. Case Western Reserve at Ripon (57-62)
8. Lake Forest at HWS (66-71)
9. NYU at Knox (86-81)

Well...Upstate appears to have returned to its dominating ways of yore. Or is this just a bad year for Midwest? Either way...Upstate defeats Midwest, 7-2.

Consolation Match- Minnesota vs Michigan

1. Hamline at MBBC (83-64)
2. Finlandia at Bethel (61-73)
3. St. Scholastica at Calvin (67-72)
4. Hope at St. Olaf (52-65)
5. Augsburg at Eureka (never scheduled due to Eureka's error; counted as win for Augsburg per agreement)
6. Olivet at Concordia, Moorhead (70-56)
7. GAC at Albion (62-65)
8. Rockford at St. John's (77-81)
9. St. Thomas at Adrian (52-62)

Of the games that were actually played, Minnesota and Michigan each won four. However, due to Eureka's scheduling error...Minnesota gets another win. And the tiebreak (total points) also goes to the MIAC: 539-523. So, Minnesota barely gets past Michigan, 5-4.

Next season, Upstate will host Minnesota in the Championship match. Midwest and Michigan will duke it out in the Consolation match.

Updated Championship count:

Upstate: 7
Midwest: 2
Michigan: 2
Minnesota:1

Consolation wins:

Michigan: 4
Midwest: 3
Minnesota: 3
Upstate: 2

" (last few seasons) not exactly a sign of domination..." -pep

That updated championship count does sort of look like a sign of domination, though.

Yeah I'll concede that it does. The rest of us have a lot of work to make up ground in the championship count. But, Upstate has been vulnerable in the last few seasons, so the time is ripe!
