Who's coaching Chicago these days? I dreamt last night that I beat Chicago by 40.

Just a dream he keeps having... and it doesn't seem to mean anything.

He feels lucky to have you there, in his kitchen, in your chair. Sometimes he forgets that you're even there...

Snowball Shootout Season 21

Championship Match-  Midwest vs Minnesota

1. Beloit at St. Olaf (86-76)
2. Hamline at Monmouth (89-69)
3. Lawrence at St. John's (58-68)
4. Macalester at Ripon (61-58 OT)
5. RHIT at Augsburg (Augsburg forfeits due to previous coach not scheduling game)
6. St. Thomas at Lake Forest (59-73)
7. St. Norbert at GAC (67-69)
8. St. Scholastica at Carroll (50-57)
9. Depauw at Bethel (59-65)

Close call in this one, but Minnesota squeaks past Midwest, 5-4.  That is 7 consecutive championships now!

Consolation Match- Michigan vs Upstate

1. Case Western at Finlandia (80-56, played as an exhibition)
2. MBB at Brandeis (64-84)
3. Washington at Albion (never scheduled)
4. Calvin at Clarkson (60-66)
5. HWS at Olivet (57-68)
6. Zoo at RPI (56-57)
7. NYU at Marian (never scheduled)
8. Alma at Chicago (66-72)
9. Rochester at Rockford (never scheduled)

Well, we had three games that were never scheduled.  How do you guys want to handle this?  In the games that were played (including the exhibition between CW and Finlandia), Upstate won four and Michigan won 1.  i feel comfortable calling Upstate the winner considering they only needed one more win to clinch...but any objections?

Congrats to Minnesota and Upstate!

Now for the State of the Shootout discussion...the "Big Four" seem to slowly be bleeding coaches.  All four conferences now have less than 9 members, the required number of teams for the Shootout.  How do you guys want to handle this going forward?  Play with fewer teams?  Retire the Shootout? Merge our challenge into the CCIW/USA South/New Jersey challenge?  Let Wooden die a slow death?  (what happened to the hype?!)

I think it's time to retire the Shootout.  We can always reconstitute it when the conferences fill back up.  Even without the loss of coaches, enthusiasm has been fairly minimal the last few seasons.

I agree that we should retire the Shootout for now.  The MIAC has won the last seven championships, but that accomplishment feels diminished because the conferences have been slowly bleeding out and there just seems to be a general lack of enthusiasm.  In the meantime, I think a broader tourney with the other major conferences would be good, but perhaps the participation could be limited to the top three or four teams in each conference.

I think reconstituting a new challenge with less teams from each conference might work. See if we can arrange something also involving the USA south and SoCal, for example? Recalibrate to the current more full conferences? Perhaps have six teams instead of nine?

Bring back the Gangbang.

Knock knock.
Who's there?
Mona.
Mona who?
Mona little louder when I give it to her at the gangbang.

Rah Rah Re kick 'em in the knee
Rah Rah Ras kick 'em in the ...
other knee

I think the spirit and momentum that existed in the beginning has faded. Sadly, I must say that we should let the Snowball melt.
