After 4, 1st round picks this is already an interesting draft. I'm surprised!

Jabbar went 6th, wow...  He's ranked #1 on my draft list, I think he's the best player to build a championship team around. Hmmm.  Great pick Mikee1!

Thanks Smokey, I'm trying to do exactly that... came close in the 52 with him and I think I figured out why that team wasn't better. Fixing that this draft.

I use my 1st round pick to select my marque player, that's to say the player that defines my team. So I select the best player available regardless of position in the 1st round. Picking 19th in the 1st round I was quite glad to see "Dr. J" still available, He's the #1 SF on my top 12 players at each position list. That's no different than getting Wilt, MJ, Rodman or CP3 to me. BTW - Thanks guy's!

WIS convention seems to dictate that one selects the best big man left. There by leaving the best(?) SF for the smuck picking 19th. It can be argued that LBJ or Bird are the best SF's but not on my team.

My marque player will define the rest of my draft. Without that player in place, I have no way to work on team dynamic's. Picking best player available in each round is a viable method, but I prefer a more specific plan.

your #1 SF is better off as an SG

LBJ should always be used as a PG.

Evil, I agree, SIM does not! I used Julius as both SG & SF, in the same league. I played him @ SG for 40 games, went 20-20, put him @ SF for the rest of the season and went 29-13. So, it appears to be a matter of who else is on the team...team dynamic's.

Lastly, the notion that JULIUS ERVING, without a doubt one of the top 10 players to ever set foot on the hardwood, would go in the second round, or later, is just insane. Even on WIS...

Dr J is one of my favorite players in real life, but he wouldn't be in my top 12 all time (and I wouldn't select him in the 1st round of this league).

I agree overall ncmusician but wouldn't you consider that 55 EFG% season that Dr J has as pretty close to first round worthy as an SG? He will dominate offensively and defensively although at only about 34 MPG.

4, down 2 to go - I have T Porter @ PG, DrJ @ SG, Bill Bridges @ SF & Lanier @ C. Two more important picks left then things get a little easier. I have a great deal of flexiblity now in the draft. It was hard to pass on McAdoo, but finance's & team dynamics made Bridges a better choice. Comments are welcome, I like a good discussion. I would like to see a dialog in this forum.
