DDL#3 - 1990's Draft (league#46043) Topic

steeler, the idea is to eliminate the hold-ups, if you don't pick in your slot we move on. It is critical that we use the proxy system. I had members in DDL#2 proxy 2 rounds at a time and was able to get their picks for them. The player list is by salary and should give everyone a good idea of who's going to be available @ their pick. The draft is the best & worst part for me, we had over 7000 hits in DDL#2 to draft 288 players...lol. I'm pretty sure we can do better than 3-4%....

kd, as you know, if you can get a consensus on the 1 hr slot we'll do it that way. The downside is that the draft then takes over a month. I think we will get a consensus on the 'new draft guidelines' in general. But we can discuss the length of the time slot also. I think 30 min's gives somebody who has been totally snaked enough time to re-group...considering the available player list. Also, the draft ends every day and gives the 'slackers' time to catch-up. There's no need to push the draft, 16 days will be the fastest 288 player draft this site has ever seen.

I think an hour 30 mins is just too short of a time span.  You really need an hour

OK, maybe 30min slots is too short. I don't want even 1 member to be put at a disadvantage for sake of time, this league is too tightly contested. It is "SoCal Laid Back" still. I'll change it to 1 hr/slot, unless I get a strong consensus for 30min/slot.

"strong consensus"...like 20 members. Fat chance...lol.

I'm in as well. But I prefer 30 minute slots.

It doesn't have to be all or nothing wrt the time slots. We could do 1 hr/slot for rounds 1-6 and 30 min/slot for rounds 7-10. Then we're look'n @ 16 draft days & 22 calander days.

I don't mind 1 hour slots, but can we all check in at the end of the night and upsate the next days board? What is frustrating is when we get so far ahead then wait for 19 hours for the next pick.

NOTICE
Proposal (revised)- New Draft Guidelines
For DDL#3 I would like to try a more structured draft. Slots would be scheduled in 1 hr increments for rounds 1-6 and 30 minute increments for rounds 7-10, 9am-9pm ET M-F. I've made up a player list to expedite picks this season. There will be no off-the-clock draft. The schedule will be published 72 hrs before starting the draft. The proxy system should work well in this draft. IMO it seems the weekends are the biggest problem area, this resolves that issue. The draft will take 16 days, 22 calander days. I think this is the easiest way for the majority...tell me what you think...
