Sounds like everyone has scheduled their games! -

Davefilby, I assume that you're going to do the writeups...
I'm also happy to do them if there are days that you cannot. Otherwise, have at it!

mduncan and dave, thanks for your suggestions and help with this idea - should be the start of a good tradition.
Yes I'll do 'em.  Should be fun.
I think the CVAC has an advantage, but it'll be fun to try to chase you guys down!

You "think" the CVAC has an advantage?  Unfortunately I'm quite certain they do, but give us time and we will catch them.  I'm pumped about us both having full conferences and starting this challenge.  Great idea bbunch.  I tried to do something similar a few months back in D3 Naismith between the Freedom (my conference) and Capital conferences but it never got off the ground.  I'm glad this one took and everyone is on board with it.

We definitely don't have a built-in advantage - we have a good shot of winning this season, but the fun thing about this tourney is that the 12 and 11 seeds are just as important as the 1 and 2 seeds.

I always wondered why there wasn't a Freedom v. Capital tourney in Naismith. I'm in CUNY Naismith (always 3rd or 4th RPI) and those 2 conferences always kick our butts.

Although the official challenge doesn't start until next season, there were 10 games between the CVAC & Heartland this season.  Each conference won 5, CVAC currently holds the #1 conference RPI, Heartland is #2.  Looking forward to the real deal next year!

yes, .....and it's nice to have another conference poised to compete w/ the CVAC. next season will be fun

Heartland teams 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11 all play on the road
Heartland teams 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 all play at home

There's a little uncertainty as to what the yarnell matchups will be (don't know if Bel Abbey or Longwood gets in for the CVAC, and same with Inc. Word or St. Mary's)

These will be the season 58 matchups (we will schedule them next season, season 57)

Week 5   Lees McRae @ W. Florida, Drury @ Coker
Week 6   St. Andrews @ Montevallo, Lincoln @ Anderson
Week 7  Pfieffer @ W. Alabama,  N. Alabama @ Mt. Olive
Week 8 Queens U. @ St. Edwards, Valdosta St. @ Erksine
Week 9. Barton @ OK Panhandle St., Rockhurst @ Limestone.
Week 10   TBA
(some undetermined combination of Bel Abbey, Longwood, Inc. Word, and St. Marys)
4/22/2012 9:49 AM
If anybody wants to get in on the first year of the challenge, Lincoln opened up in the Heartland.  Only spot in the 2 conferences.
4/24/2012 7:55 AM
Whoo!!
4/24/2012 8:39 AM
So Longwood and Incarnate Word are in the Yarnell. As a result St. Mary's will play Longwood and Belmont Abbey will play Incarnate Word. bbunch, who should be the home teams in these 2 games?
4/28/2012 8:35 AM
I think Saint Mary's and Bel Abbey should be home, since they didn't make the Yarnell.
4/28/2012 10:50 AM
I agree. Season 58 matchups right here

Week 5   Lees McRae @ W. Florida, Drury @ Coker
Week 6   St. Andrews @ Montevallo, Lincoln @ Anderson
Week 7  Pfieffer @ W. Alabama,  N. Alabama @ Mt. Olive
Week 8 Queens U. @ St. Edwards, Valdosta St. @ Erksine
Week 9. Barton @ OK Panhandle St., Rockhurst @ Limestone.
