D2 Season 61 Topic

Liked the Short Circuit reference, I'll be referring to SimAI as "Johnny 5" from now on.
Impressed by the growth of the Cal CAA the past few seasons.
Excellent work as always bbunch.

Great read bbunch. I would be happy getting to the elite 8.

Great read bbunch.  Very thorough.  St. Mary's TX would be happy with an Elite 8 appearance this season.  If we had a true PG this team would be very strong.  We have great inside and outside scoring options in the starting lineup and off the bench, but our defense is a little lacking this saeson.  We just can't seem to get all of the necessary pieces at the same time.

awesome, once again

Enjoyed the report!

In the Great Lakes Valley, my Bellarmine team is gelling at the right time. We just competed a tough 3-0 road trip, including wins over Wisconsin-Parkside and Indianapolis.  We're too young to make much noise in the NT but I'm enjoying this group!

Great as always, bbunch!

Hope I live up to the hype. This is one of the best teams I've had in a while. I've debated moving to a conference like the Heartland, CVAC, or Cal CAA or moving up to D1 but I think I know what it's going to take to build sustained success at Seattle and D2 in general after plenty of experimenting.

I've never seen Iba this wide open. Based on last season, you'd think Longwood would be the shoo-in choice to win this year after his upstarts made that run in the tournament and beat my seasoned players in the final. With a year under their belt, they should be better.

But dang, he has 6 losses this year. Belmont-Abbey is sitting at #3 with 3 losses. One of those was to Harding who's #21 with 5 losses. Harding comes from a conference with a 25-0 team. The team I've liked and beat Harding this year, St Marys TX is #13 right now with 5 losses.

Again... I've never seen Iba this wide open. I'm still picking Longwood, but it could be anybody.

I don't feel too bad about 6 losses with the #1 SOS - but we're not necessarily as good as last season due to our top player , our Center, from last season not being adequately replaced.

I think Longwood has as good of a shot as anyone, but I agree that it's very wide open.

The top 4 teams in my opinion (in no particular order) Belmont Abbey, Wisconsin Parkside, Longwood and Seattle.

Looking at the other top 15 RPI teams, all either have a somewhat glaring hole or a coach who hasn't won enough to be considered a threat (I qualify for both of those).

Grand Canyon is outscoring the #3 SOS by almost 25 points per game.  I think I speak for many of us when I say "Please put me in different bracket...."

NT time. Who do you like?

On another note, if you like OT thrillers go read the play-by-play of the instant classic Heartland Conference CT final last night.
