That's the type of guy that a low level D1 school should have grabbed.  But his ratings were deceptively low to start.  Very impressive.  I wonder if he had to battle for him during recruiting.

Wouldn't be surprised if he didn't have to battle for him. Those starting ratings were pretty low. I've coached low D1 teams with my other handle and even if all of his attributes were green with a WE of 50 and starting values that ,ow I doubt I would go for him. He turned into a great D2 player, but he wouldn't have been great at a low D1 school until probably this season.

If Limestone wins the National Championship, that will be 5 straight for the state of South Carolina.

71 - Limestone
72 - Lander
73 - Lander
74 - Erskine
75 - ???

Texas had the two before that. I think St Mary's (TX) will have something to say about it this season.

I'd be very surprised if Limestone won this year.  Call it the curse of being ranked #1 most of the season.  We don't exactly run teams out of the gym and I think when we play top 5 competition anything can happen.

The pain of a #1 seed. Ouch.

D2 seems so hard to predict.  I never quite felt like my team had a good chance despite playing so well most of the year.  I did make a few strategic decisions vs. Lander - and I'll never know if it hurt or helped (made the score closer).

I am surprised by how many teams lost in the first and second rounds.  It always seems like a toss up.  I also think teams like Limestone start off strong, but with so many upperclassmen (9) many of my guys didn't improve much as the season went on.  That gives other schools the chance to catch up, making the margin for error lower.  I also think my team would have been better as a press team.  I started to make that switch but things went awry with recruiting the past few seasons so I stopped that process.  That said, my 2 best players were really good - PG and SG - but everyone else was nothing special IMO.

Good luck to everyone rest of the tourney -
