One other thing, which is an aside for me... having multiple IDs in a world also affects another thing.. opportunity to coach your favorite school. Now, if your favorite school is St. Olaf.. you'll probably be able to get a job there, no problem.. but if it's Oklahoma... good luck. In the real world, there's only ONE Oklahoma... (OU fans will get that), but in WIS, there are 11. In order to get that job, you have to be the best of the best.. AND have the job come available. If you miss out on it, you have at least 4 seasons to wait to see if the new coach screws up. If he doesn't, you're out of luck. BUT, if the new coach has multiple IDs, and has been as successful with ID2 as with his first ID, he's got a good shot at locking down the OU job for life, or at least until you get bored with coaching at Montana or Baylor, whatnot.
To me, this is the flaw that kills GD as a game for joe college fan. The core college fan isn't just a fan of the college game... although he enjoys it.. almost all college fans have at least one team they rabidly follow.. 3-4 tops. If they can't play one of those teams in the game, they'll give up on it eventually and go play EA Sports or something. Until WIS finds a way to address this, it's going to be a minor player in college football simultion games.
There are plenty of worlds in which to work at landing your favorite team the key is work. Just because you want to coach Oklahoma means you should. The key is earning the right which is why it is a elite job.
Don't be a doof. This isn't about work.. and this isn't about complaining that I can't get that job.. it's about the way the game is set up that makes multiple IDs increase ones' odds and NOT using them decrease ones' odds. It's hard enough to get an elite without having extra IDs added to the mix. That is either true or it isn't. Simple arithmetic says it's true.
The 2nd point is commentary on the viability of the game. If it doesn't tap into the big group of college football fans, it isn't going to be viable, in the end. IF WIS wants to attract the bulk of college football fans, new OR old engine, I'm afraid the concept they have isn't going to do it.
