I've never seen UConn be uncompetitive, especially in the Big East.
I think Boston College, Syracuse, Rutgers, and Temple are all pretty prime too, even if they're all good at the same time.
BC has a big recruiting advantage, and the others all have the potential to be very good, but UConn is a mediocre to piddling team in most worlds. Basically the only coach that had sustained success at UConn was cebrake in Heisman. There are some NCs here and there, it is certainly no Wyoming, but it is hardly one of the top teams. Unless your goal is to get into the Continental Tire Bowl, in which case it is precisely what you are looking for.
