Just curious as to what some of you are finding out there in your QB's. I am seeing that strength is not as important as technique. When I first started playing this game, it appeared to be the opposite, at least in my experience. I understand GI, and Elus/Spd .....just looking to see which attribute you see being more effective for you now.

I would like to see some strength..., but GI is number 1 for me...then TECH.  STR is #3 on my priority list.  The only guy I pass with is at D3 so that is the limit of my experience.

I think it all depends on what type of offense you are running.  If you you find yourself throwing lots of short passes, you can probably get away with a QB with more GI and Technique and less strength.  You are going to throw a lot of picks if you are trying more aggressive passes with a QB with relatively low strength.

In my system strength is nothing.  I go heavy on tech and GI.  I've had great success getting guys with decent tech/gi and HIGH WE.

In my pro offense I go GI and Str as my preference followed by Speed

GI > Tech > Str > Ath > Sta > Spd/Elus

The last 4 are debatable

I'm new to the game myself but i've tried to recruit and start players in this manner as well..
GI>Tech>Str
I dont know much about the "engine" but these stats just seemed like they'd mean the most for a good qb in real life..
what good is a cannon if you cant aim it?

If you have good GI and TECH and are still throwing picks....I think its more of a factor of the receivers (or perhaps the OL)  I throw a lot in Wilkinson and never have many picks....only 3 by my starter last season, vs 48 TDs and over 4000 yds.  My QBs don't have terrible strength but I never even look at it when recruiting and that team goes deep regularly to some speedy WRs.

at least for now (before any engine updates), strenght for a QB is not that important.  IMO, tech/GI/str

I agree with DKC tech is 1st. Strength is a distant third.
4/14/2012 11:12 PM
Agreed with Caesari I rate Tech first then GI then a distant third strength as per Caesari. I also think strength is more important as you go up divisions due to facing faster/better db's so typically I want my starting qb in DIII to be at least in the mid 30's , DII mid 40's and D1AA in the mid 50's. But I dont normally start a qb till his redshirt junior year so he has time to develop!

I am with a LOT of these guys. Tech, followed very closely by GI. Str is 3rd, but as is the case for a lot of positions, Ath has started to creep further and further up my requirement list.

Maybe Tech > GI/Str for conservative balanced passing (got to get the guys the ball accurately); GI/Str > Tech for aggressive passing (got to know where to go deep into coverage, and be able to cram the ball into the defense)?  Just a thought.....
