So I've noticed so far (which is only 1.5 games) that my Freshman attribute levels are not increasing.  Well 1 has and it was a very very small increase.  Most of my Freshman have good WE.  Do they usually take longer to start to increase?  I know its early in the season but if Im not doing something right, I'd like to fix that now.  Thanks.
Also, do the attribute levels increase/decrease if they are redshirted?

You may want to double check your individual practice times for each category and make sure those are set properly.  The increase each day is small, in fact, often it's a small percentage of 1 full point, which alot of times it'll take multiple days for a single category to go up a point.  Also, it depends on the potential of your players as to how fast they'll grow.  As far as redshirting goes, they'll still grow, just not as fast as they'd be doing so if they were playing and/or starting.

Check on practice times like Tsut said, but also remember that they will be a bit "behind" in progressing compared to the rest of your team because the rest of your team had 3 pre-season games to get a head start on them.  So while it may look like they're progressing slower, it may just be that they haven't had as many games to get better.  The rest of your team has had 4 games to improve, while the freshmen have only had 1.

Numbers are not rounded up. They have to achieve a full point increase for any attribute before being tabulated.

may not see any signifigant gains for 2-3 games -- like katzphang said -- the numbers don't round up

also depends on the potential + WE -- not just the WE by itself

i am 100% sure the numbers are rounded.
what we see is a rounded number with zero decimal places (rounded to the nearest integer i am pretty sure)
but what the attributes actually appear to be is a numnber with at least one decimal place.

if you make careful note at the biginning of the season, you will notice some guys gain +1 here or there that are still showing +0 on the growth.
what is happening is you have a guy at 70.3 SPD (shows as 70), he has +0.3 growth in SPD (shows as +0) but his behind-the-scenes number is now 70.6 (shows as 71, even though his spd improvement still shows +0)
now wehther the game SPD plays as 70.6 or 71 I am not sure, but there is definately rounding of the attributes, i am positive of it.

as far as the 1.5 games sample size, 2 things:
1) i think all player growth happens 1-hr after the game ends, so you would see growth at halftime
2) thats way to small a sample size to judge anyway. and there seems to be some sort of odd-eve cycle to player growth, that is you tend to grow more after game 2 than you did after game 1, more after game 4 than you did after game 3, etc (incrementally by game of course).
and rememebr you should be playing your freshman in 2 preseason games, so by the end of the 2nd game of the regular season you should have 4 games of growth.

gov,

I am almost 100% certain that it has been stated by the devs on numerous occasions that the numbers do NOT round up. That you will not see an increase until they hit that full point.

For what it's worth, my FR QB Dixon on my St. Peter squad came in at 59 GI / 64 TECH, and now sits at 60/65 with all zeros in improvement

i dont have the screen shots but i am certain there is attribute rounding.
what we see is a rounded number no doubt, but i have had players gain a +1 here or there while showing +0 growth. the only way this could be possible would be if there was a hidden decimal component we arent seeing.
Maybe instead of rounding-nearest as in the above example, what was really happening was rounding-down:
70.7 SPD (shows as 70) + .04 SPD growth (shows as +0) = 71.1 (shows as 71)

i guess i am not exactly sure of the roudning convention but i am almost 100% positive there is some type of rounding based on fractions of whole attribute points.

rounding-down could also explain the odd-even gain cycle.
a player gains +1.5 agter game 1 but only show +1.
he gains another +1.5 after game 2 giving him a total of +3, so it looks like there was only double the gain when really this are more evenly spread and we are just seeing a rounded result.

The above is correct.  That's also why returning players appear to start growing sooner than freshmen.  Your freshmen's attributes all start at whole numbers while your returning players start the season with some attributes that are just 1 or 2 tenths of a point shy of being rounded up to the next number.   They're officially growing at the same rate; it just doesn't look that way due to the rounding of the numbers.

And players only grow after games are completed each day, not at halftime.

Ok, great.  Thanks for the help.  Its game 3 and their attributes are starting to move.  I guess I jumped the gun a little bit.
